The Book Club of MDKG College celebrated World Book Day on 23rd April 2025. Dr. Chandanjyoti Chutiya, Assistant Professor, Department of Assamese, delivered a lecture on the topic পাঠক : সম্ভাৱনা আৰু পূৰ্ণতাৰ দ্যোতক (Reader: An Indicative to Maturity and Prospects) in his speech he emphasized and said “The reader plays a pivotal role in the literary process, complementing the author and the text. By actively engaging with and interpreting the text, readers bring their unique experiences, biases, and perspectives, effectively shaping its meaning. This dynamic interaction empowers readers to uncover the inherent possibilities within a literary work, revealing new insights and understandings” . Dr. Anupjyoti Bharali, Principal of MDKG College, spoke about the importance of the day and urged students to develop good reading habits. Dr. Shekhar Purkayastha, Coordinator of the Book Club, presided over the meeting. A good number of faculty members, non-teaching staff, and students actively participated in the event.
Nisihinta Das, a 6th-semester student from the Department of Community Science, was awarded for her participation in the reel short video competition organized by the Book Club of MDKG College.
