On the occasion of World AIDS Day 2024, a lecture program was organized jointly by the NCC, NSS, and the Health & Sanitation Club of the MDKG College . The program aimed at raising awareness about HIV/AIDS.
Dr. Himadri Das, Senior Medical and Health Officer from the Government of Assam, was the resource person for the event. She addressed the students and delivered an insightful speech about the importance of HIV prevention, testing, and treatment, emphasizing the need for awareness and reducing stigma around the disease.
The program began with a warm welcome speech by the Principal of MDKG College, Dr. Anup Jyoti Bharali, who highlighted the significance of World AIDS Day and encouraged students to actively participate in spreading awareness.
Dr. Ashwini Machey, Coordinator of the Health & Sanitation Club, Dr. Mitali Sonowal, NSS Program Officer, and Anwesha Saikia,CTO of the NCC unit of MDKG College were also present in the program.
The program served as an informative and impactful session for the students, providing them with valuable knowledge on HIV/AIDS, while also fostering a sense of responsibility toward health awareness and community welfare.
