Ms. Anindita Gogoi has been a noted social activist who works for the betterment of children specially school drops out of Tea tribes family residing in the unreached Assam-Nagaland boarder area.
She has also been a sports organizer and working for promotion of Lawn Bowl and acted as National Technical Officer in 38th National Games held in Uttarakhand in 2025.

Story of Anindita
After completion of her Graduation from MDKG College in 2016, Anindita was doing her Master in Social Works from .In pandemic period, she was busy in preparation of her project assigned by the institute. During her visit, she realized the the reality of the majority of children coming of poor daily waged tea labourers . On seeing the sorry plight of these children who were being deprived of proper education and health care, Anindita, with support of her parents , founded a street library and Tottochan Children Library in Bhogbari for those marginalized children not reachable by government or any governmental plans and programmes.
Now Anindita”s Library becomes a model for everyone who works in allied areas and her painstaking effort to enlighten the children community by spreading literacy and promoting life skills among them is widely acknowledged by various circles of the state. She was felicitated by the Charaideo District Administration as Best Social Worker and included her name in all the committees constituted at district level for protection and safety of women and children. Her libraries are visited by different high profiles and dignitaries regularly. Many persons came forward to promote these two libraries and donated books and other amenities. Anindita arranged a CLOTH HOUSE in her library where she collected used clothes from various households enabling the poor children to take out and change dresses as and when required. She also organized Village Book Fair in far remotest areas of Charaideo and different academic and cultural activities were also held among children as a part of the event.
She now takes care of almost 200 children of surrounding areas and they visit her house and libraries at regular intervals. She also motivates the Children to take part in village fair where they learn basic concept of marketing of indigenous commodities.
Of late, Anindita has been carrying out a project on Street Library jointly with ACS and Bhuyan to be presented in AXOM XAHITYA XABHA conference, Pathsala.
Being a good Sports organizer, Anindita also acted as National Technical Officer in National Games held in Uttarakhand. She has been associated with Assam Lawn Bowl Association since long.
Anindita in Monthly Talk Programme : At the very outset of the Programme, a Portrait of Manohari Devi Kanoi after whom the college was named was donated and inaugurated by Sjt. J.P. Kanoi , noted Industrialist and donor member of the college governing body. Thereafter, both Sjt. Kanoi and Ms. Anindita were felicitated by the Principal, Dr. Anupjyoti Bharali with Gamusa and Mementos . Dr. Bharali in his welcome speech highlighted the prime objectives of the programme and conveyed thanks to Sjt. Kanoi for his endeavor. Sjt. Kanoi, in his inaugural speech, applauded the college authority for organizing such motivational inspirational programme namely Monthly Talk Programme and assured his cooperation in successful execution of the programme.
During her elegant deliberation , Anindita talked about her journey on the road to social works and detailed about the scenes and perspectives behind her overwhelmed involvement in establishment of Children and Street Library and community works specially for underprivileged communities. She also revealed that she got idea and inspiration from Totto-chan- a famous Japanese book written by Tetsuko Kuroyanagi when she dicided to establish the Children Library and to work for the children.
Before winding up the programme, a interactive session was held in which Anindita answered various queries about her mission and objectives of all that she has done for the cause of the society. The programme was anchored by Dipankar sarmah, Assistant Professor in Sociology and Joint Coordinator of MTP.
