Message from HoD
I, Dr. Rupali Majumder on behalf of the department, welcome you all to the department of philosophy. It gives me immense pleasure to lead the department. We started our journey in the year 1963 and since then, the department has been perpetually endeavoring to produce some bright minds with rational thinking and moral values. The founder HOD of the department is Honorable Dalimi Chaliha. At that time, the department only offered pass course of philosophy. From our humble beginning, now the department has evolved to a full-fledged department offering both Honors and GE course in Philosophy. The department has two permanent faculty members and two contractual teachers. We have one departmental library (with more than 250 books) of its own, catering to the needs of some necessary books easily accessible to students. The students release departmental wall magazine ‘Anneswan’ annually and it gives them a platform to canvas their creativity.
Our department has consistently excelled in academics and co-curricular activities. We hope to excel more in the near future!
