Story of Bidya Bharati

After completion of her Graduation from MDKG College in 2016, Bidya was doing her bachelor degree in Performing Arts from the Bhupen Hazarika Centre for Performing Arts , Dibrugarh University. Thereafter, she did her master degree in PA( 2019-20) from Mahapurush Srimanta Sankardev University, Nogaon and she was able to top herself among the rank holders. Simultaneously, she completed her Master Degree in Assamese through Distance and Open Learning mood.

During her studies, Bidya performed in various cultural event and showcased her talent in music and drama in and around the state .She joined different amateur theatre groups and later on, played roles in short films. Her career in cine world began to bloom while she performed acting in ‘Anur’ ,a feature film which got Rajat Kamal Award in 69th National Film Festival,2024. Her acting in this film also brought to her the Nipon Goswami Recognition Award as the Best Debut Actor offered by R.K. Universe in 2023. ‘ In a short film ‘Xunyota’ which also begged Rajat Kamal Award in short film category in 70th National Film Festival 2024, Bidya played the key role and was given away Best Actor Award in 5th Celluloid International film festival, 2023 and Best Actor Female Award in Cine Parbon International Short film Carnival in 2022 . Bidya was honoured for her performance in the film ‘Xoudamini’ , a short film on womenhood.

Of late, Bidya played role in COLLAGE, a film which got award in Guwahati Asian Film Fest, 2025. She also took part in the film AOKAN, a film on an extraordinary content.

Bidya Bharati in Monthly Talk Programme : In the beginning of the Programme, Bidya Bharati and her Father ( who had been an associate professor in Moran College)were felicitated by the Principal, Dr. Anupjyoti Bharali with Gamusa and Mementos . Dr. Bharali in his welcome speech highlighted the achievements of Bidya and remarked that her talent in the field of cine and music was remarkable and the whole college fraternity would take pride in her journey of success. In her speech, Bidya applauded the college family for organizing such motivational inspirational programme namely Monthly Talk Programme and remarked that this alma mater has always been a source of inspiration for her and she would like to attribute all her success to the college family. She appealed all of the family to continue their support and inspiration.

During her elegant deliberation , Bidya talked about her entry and journey to the field of Art and Music and detailed about the scenes and perspectives behind her overwhelmed involvement in film, drama and music. Her songs uploaded on YouTube and clippings of acting in different films were screened along with her speech. She also revealed that she prepared a short clipping in which she testified her own talent on acting and sent it to Director of a film. That was her first attempt to penetrate into the film industry and finally she succeeded to get a role. She advised the upcoming talents to prepare their own audio/ videos on various artistic genres to showcase their talent and circulate through various digital plateforms.

Before winding up the programme, a interactive session was held in which Bidya Bharati answered various queries about films, music and also about her future planning. She also focused about the general trending of Art films and future of it.The programme was anchored by Dipankar sarmah, Assistant Professor in Sociology and Joint Coordinator of MTP. And was moderated by Aniruddha Dutta, Joint coordinator of the programme and Associate Professor of the college.
